She-who-must-be-adored likes beaches in general, and decided at first sight that Dumpton Gap was her favourite beach in all the world. Small, friendly, with the two essentials for human (well, hers at least) survival - tea and toilets. And it is really pretty, a proper little haven.
And then on to Broadstairs, spectacularly busy on the beach and showing what Ramsgate seems to be missing in terms of sheer numbers.
We even walked back, despite my intention to get the bus. I must be weakening... And I'd completely forgotten the sheer fun to be had staring in to a rockpool, no matter how tiny.

Viking Bay's always like that. But then with the tide in there's very little beach, so it looks busier than it is. And then if you want a swim, you find yourself having to 'go through the motions'.
Ramsgate's miles better - and there's room to fly your kite!
True, but it is a perfect 'bay' shape which I find very pleasing. Less pleasing were the jetskis launching from the harbour bit and roaring (carefully) out through the swimmers...
I was in Broadstairs delivering books about the place to Albion Bookshop yesterday as I am trying to master a camcorder that is pretty much the size of my hand it requires some juggling with reading glasses so I handed over the ordinary camera to my 16 year old pictures at http://www.michaelsbookshop.com/broadstairs/ as you see it is rather humming. Zumi I have also added a picture of the shirt at http://www.michaelsbookshop.com/tdc/michael_child.htm as some people managed to miss it.
The only people that missed the shirt were the people that were'nt there :-)
I haven't walked along that way for a while..... I'll have to do it soon, and take my camera along too.
