A bit late, but here are a couple of shots from the water-ski racing at the powerboat weekend. Fun to watch, amazing that their leg muscles can cope with that level of punishment for so long! And a lot more pictures of the weekend from ThanetOnline, including lots on the funfair and harbourside, so prepare to do some scrolling and clicking to see them all - and more of mine from the weekend further down this page of course...
So we're definitely looking forward to our first Regatta week - slower, less noisy, but just as many pictures!

I was annoyed to miss out on this but was in France for the weekend which isn't too bad an alternative although I heard that the weather here was fantastic.
Well obviously a tricky choice, France or Thanet, but the weather was - briefly anyway - pretty good for the weekend. back to normal now, obviously...
And a curious thing - looking at my stats I saw a recent visitor came from a Google search for 'ramsgate power boat weekend'. Fair enough, although on that search ECR came out No1 and me 'only' No2 (grrrr..) of 21,300, but the Google result for my blog showed content I'd updated about an hour earlier! Google just gets scarier - am I being spidered in real time? (I know I'm not, obviously, but one day, you just see). And annoyingly, a search that had powerboat as one word had me nowhere (ok, No. 16), and ECR still up there (No. 6). I am a bit of a Google enthusiast so I find this stuff interesting. Sorry.
I've definitely got spiders crawling all over me since they cleared the Pleasurama site. Little bleeders keep dangling from the old Trevor Sorbie hair do.
Thanks for the link, I will eventually try to get round to sorting the best bits out of the high definition images and deleting the worst ones.
I have been busy this week publishing a reprint of an 1866 glide to Margate, the town looked pretty bad when I went over the other day so I thought I would do something to cheer up the residents a bit.
Apart from the printed copies available from me, and soon Margate Museum, I hope I have published the whole thing for free on the web at http://www.michaelsbookshop.com/mhb/
