Today's Gazette pictures Catherine Tate filming her Christmas special on the beach at Broadstairs. Maybe the Tardis will pop by to save time (Catherine Tate is the Doctor's assistant in the next series in case you didn't get the connection...)
Funny how Broadstairs rather than Ramsgate has taken off as a location. Perhaps it's because there are too many things taking off over Ramsgate - it's enough to make a sound recordist's ears bleed!
Don't mention the p-l-a-n-e-s, you'll just set everyone off again! Seems every blogger on the Isle is a raving planeophile or planeophobe at the moment...
It's tricky - I loved my Ryanair and Easyjet holidays (whilst not liking the Ryanair experience much); I grew up in Jersey, constant airport noise (and family friends flying for BEA) so found (and still find, mostly) airports exciting and fun; I really enjoyed the air show at the Big Event; and yet... I love the look of the Jumbo doing its training circuits, but the noise does get a bit tedious after an hour or so...
So here I am, on the fence, hoping Kent International thrives, but wishing Jumbos were quieter. There, that was decisive wasn't it...
